Beyond the Classroom

This very specialized program offers services to our most vulnerable students. The BTC curriculum focuses on developing functional literacy skills, functional numeracy skills, social skills, vocational skills, personal living skills, physical/emotional skills, healthy relationships and sexual health. All Beyond the Classroom students integrate into the HRH general stream for CTS option classes, Physical Education, Health and Religion (may vary pending timetabling, modification and student needs).

The Beyond the Classroom program within Living Waters School Division is the 2020 recipient of the Xerox Innovation and Excellence in Education Award from the Alberta School Boards Association.
Occupational Therapy and Speech Language Therapy

Occupational Health and Speech Language services are also available at Holy Redeemer. Students in mainstream programming who require Occupational Therapy and Speech Language Therapy will have an intake meeting and receive services as needs require.

These services are also  embedded in our Beyond the Classroom Program. The primary focus and development areas for this specialized program will be Self-Regulation/Interception training, Be Smart, Strong and Safe Safety Program, and Hygiene. Therapists and teachers assigned to our Beyond the Classroom program assist the students with developing and building lifelong skills that will help them have healthy, happy lives.
