Katerina Giovos is a long time Edson resident and has served the community in various roles such as: professional figure skating coach, partnered dance instructor, fitness coach, fitness group class instructor, restaurant manager, educational assistant and now junior/senior high teacher. She is passionate about the creative arts, wellness and religion. Her goal is to create a welcoming classroom environment and help all students grow throughout their time together. She believes every student is capable of greatness. In her free time, Katerina loves spending time with her family and friends, reading, skating, and cooking.
Education and Professional Background
Katerina received her Bachelors of Arts in Religious Studies and Human Development while studying in Boston, MA and her Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary. Among these degrees she holds certificates in various areas.
Katerina believes that each student brings different experiences and strengths to the classroom. Her hope is that she can support and appropriately challenge students to help them reach their full potential. Establishing an environment that is safe, caring, and engaging is important in order for students to be able to do their best. Katerina believes that there needs to be collaboration among teachers, parents, and students to make learning as effective as possible. Her ultimate goal is to help students grow physically, mentally and spiritually.
