Dallas Arcand Jr Hoop Dancing Performance

On October 18th, the students at HRH were treated to a very special performance by three time Hoop Dancing World Champion Dallas Arcand, Jr.

Dallas Arcand Jr first began spinning hoops with his father, three-time World Champion Hoop Dancer Dallas Arcand Sr, at the age of four. It was a game, of course, but he loved the stories that the dances and the hoops told so he worked to master the art himself. He first joined Dallas Sr on the stage at the Calgary Stampede Rodeo Half-Time Show at the age of eight, doing the Grass Dance in front of crowds of up to 20,000 people, and has continued to be a favoured Stampede performer since that event in 2006. Today he is highly respected for his own skill as a Hoop Dancer, and for his abilities as a musician and entertainer.

Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Dallas Junior currently lives on the Alexander First Nation (Cree: Kipohtakaw / ᑭᐳᐦᑕᑲᐤ) Reserve in Northern Alberta. He is father to one beautiful girl, Primrose and his son, Alaric. Even with all his touring, there will be another bouncing baby in 2024. Although Dallas Jr has accumulated many high profile and international performance credits, he is most proud of the work he has done as an entertainer and speaker for local bands and communities in Canada. He has developed a diverse repertoire of entertainment and speaker programs for both adult and youth audiences.
